About Me

Hi, I’m Josh.

If you’re here, it’s likely that you have a sense that something is hurting. You may doubt if what you have or who you are is “fixable”, or if you or your relationships are even worth fixing. After decades of helping people – as a clergyman, chaplain, teacher, and now therapist – I know that each of us is more resourceful, more flexible, more worthy than we imagine, and that each of us has the capacity to live fuller, wiser, richer lives. I have seen that frequently the reason we’re stuck or in pain is because of patterns of thought or feeling we’re not even aware of, and that the process of healing involves recognizing, accepting, and then replacing those patterns with choices that we want to make. And I believe that we live in our bodies, our feelings, our thoughts, and our relationships, and each of those aspects of our lives deserves to be taken seriously. This sounds like hard work, and it is, but getting to explore who we are with someone we trust can also be filled with joy and even laughter.

I have helped men and women with anxiety, depression, shame, trauma, life transitions and self-definition, and I’ve helped people with their romantic, marital, and family relationships. Older straight white guy that I am, I’m grateful that people of diverse backgrounds, genders, and expressions have felt comfortable with me. If you feel that I might be able to help you, I’d be honored to take the first step together.
